About the Founder

Wang | Robotics and Drone Systems Engineer
Born and raised on a small island off the coast of southern China, Wang left home for the first time at 18 to study electronic information engineering at a university in Shenzhen. In his first year, he began teaching himself embedded development and multirotor flight control. By his second year, he had become a core developer of a popular open-source multirotor project in China. During university, he took part in several drone competitions and a national robotics competition, earning a national first prize. In his final year, he spent six months away from campus working on the development of a rocket engine control system.
After earning his bachelor’s degree, he joined a drone company, leading the development of flight controllers and consumer aerial photography drones. In 2018, he returned to Shenzhen and joined another drone company, where he worked on a twin-rotor aerial photography drone. In 2021, he independently developed software solutions for long-range ToF ranging and low-cost ESCs, which were widely adopted in toy-grade consumer drones. In 2023, he left his job to found MicoAir Tech. With a focus on making autonomous robotics technology easier to adopt, he continues to develop high-performance, affordable, easy-to-integrate standardized products in navigation and positioning, environmental sensing, and wireless communications.
He believes autonomous robotics technology should not be limited to a handful of large companies or specialized R&D teams. It should be a foundational capability that hobbyists, students, and small and medium-sized teams can readily access and use.
Making advanced autonomous robotics accessible to more people.
